Ecotelligent Homes offers professional duct sealing services for homes throughout the Metro Detroit area. Duct sealing is an often overlooked, but critical component of a comprehensive home energy upgrade. This is an important step for improving energy efficiency, comfort, and indoor air quality.
WHAT IS DUCT SEALING?
Most homes in Metro Detroit suffer from ductwork that has leaks and small gaps at the metal to metal connections. Leaky spots in your ducts allow your home’s conditioned (that is, heated and cooled) air to escape prior to reaching the desired room. This causes your heating and cooling systems to work overtime to compensate for the air loss, wasting significant energy. Peripheral side effects of leaky ducts include poor indoor air quality, uncomfortable rooms, and building durability problems. To remedy these issues, duct sealing is the process of identifying and sealing leaks in the home’s duct system.
PROFESSIONAL DUCT SEALING & YOUR HOME: WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
When done correctly, duct sealing not only improves how efficiently your heated and cooled air reaches your rooms; there are also a number of additional benefits, including:
Better Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) for Home Safety
Duct sealing eliminates a couple of indoor air quality issues including moisture escaping into your home’s exterior walls and unhealthy dust, mold, and other particles circulating through your ductwork.
Balanced Indoor Temperatures for Home Comfort
Conditioned air will reach your rooms more effectively, meaning you can expect a more comfortable, evenly heated or cooled living space.
Lower Heating & Cooling Costs
By reducing the demand on your HVAC systems, you can expect higher system efficiency, energy savings, and lower utility costs.
