Danielle’s kitchen and family room floors were cold and drafty. She also wanted to improve her environmental impact.

Problem

The Ecotelligent Homes team started with an energy audit. During the audit, we found that the basement rim joists were not properly insulated leading to the cold floors.

Approach

Ecotelligent Homes team used spray foam insulation to properly fill the crevices of the basement rim joists. We also used air sealing in the attic to prevent air from escaping the home.

Outcome

Danielle was very pleased with the improvements made to her floors as they were no longer cold and helped to reduce her carbon footprint.
