A List of Environmental Holidays

Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970 and held annually on April 22nd. The first Earth Day brought light to environmental issues and eventually lead to the Environmental Protection Agency being formed later that year. While Earth Day is the most celebrated green holiday, it is not the only one that deserves recognition. As climate change continues to be an issue, it is important to continue highlighting sustainable and environmental days. Below are eco-friendly holidays and the environmental organizations behind them that warrant attention.
