Customer SpotLight: Hot Upstairs All Summer, Now Ready for Winter with AeroSeal

This month’s spotlight features a Farmington Hills family of five that is now enjoying even temperatures throughout their home thanks to a newer technology used by Ecotelligent Homes called AeroSeal. With this new process leaks in duct work can be sealed without opening drywall.  The duct work in this colonial was running up the exterior walls, allowing their valuable heat and A/C to escape to the outside before reaching their upstairs bedrooms.  Our crew sealed their ducts by 75% to help keep temperatures even on every floor. If your home is like theirs and had a hot upstairs this summer, call Ecotelligent Homes to make sure you are not pumping out heat from leaks in your duct work this winter.

Green Tips: Preparing for colder weather

The best part of fall is the changing colors but there are still easy things you can do to ensure your fall stays green. Compost your leaves and yard waste - Along with your food waste, you can compost your leaves, grass, twigs, plant trimmings, and more. Compost bins require minimal effort to produce organic, rich black gold by spring. Visit a farm/apple orchard – Michigan has some of the best apples in the country, our great, local farms and apple orchards offer great fun for the whole family. Caulk the windows - Ensure that your home is more energy-efficient by caulking around cracks in windows and doorways. Do annual furnace maintenance and replace the filter - Cleaning and adjusting your furnace annually will ensure its operating efficiently, cut back on fuel use, and save you money this winter. It's inexpensive to do, but will end up saving you hundreds of dollars in the long run.
