When I asked a friend Anne if she had any recommendations for insulation, she immediately said Ecotelligent Homes. They’d done several projects for her Detroit home, and she’d never had an issue. I trusted my friend, so I called for an estimate to get insulation blown in the walls after my kitchen froze last winter. Ecotelligent was able to fit me in within the week and Brandon came out to give me options and suggestions. Instead of focusing on the one problem wall I had, after walking around my house and examining the basement and the attic, he advised that I instead first get my attic insulated. He went in to detail explaining what that would do to help my kitchen, what I could expect the experience to be like, and what paperwork Ecotelligent would submit on my behalf to reap the benefits of tax credits. (He also gave me a rough idea of a price to expect for the work, and a suggestion to call next year about basement asbestos removal, which I’ll be doing.) They offered financing with Michigan Saves and everybody was very nice. I received check-in emails about the pending work and status updates when the rebate paperwork was submitted on my behalf. The guys doing the insulation even took a look at my attic door handle and said “we can make that better than a hook and an eyelet”, and they did! My radiators are on much less frequently now, without any loss of the comfort as if they were going full-blast, and I’m excited to see what my winter heating bills will be like!
