April 29, 2013
Amanda Godward, Owner of Farmington Hills based Ecotelligent Homes, has been named to Crain’s Detroit Business’ Twenty in their 20’s Class of 2013 along with 19 other up-and-coming leaders in the Metro Detroit business community. Godward was selected by Crain’s editors and reporters from hundreds of nominees for developing and growing Ecotelligent Homes to improve the energy efficiency of homes and businesses and working with local non-profits to increase environmental education in schools and improve the skills of the local green workforce.
For each of the past seven years, Crain’s has recognized 20 individuals in their 20’s in an award program that they describe as ‘highlighting the brainpower and entrepreneurial talent of the region’s young professionals and creative.’ The April 28, 2013 article of Crain’s featured profiles of the twenty winners, including this feature on Godward:
“Working for an automaker after earning a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University, Godward saw that she wouldn't be happy with that work and started her own company… Her business, Ecotelligent Homes LLC in Farmington Hills, does energy-usage audits of buildings and installs insulation, heating and cooling, window, lighting and ventilation features that save energy. Most customers are homeowners, but Ecotelligent last year began expanding into the commercial property business.”
Crain’s explains, “The recognition program celebrates the best and the brightest under 30 who may not have made their first million but whose creativity and entrepreneurial sprint is already contributing to a new energy in Southeast Michigan.
Crain’s is hosting an event to celebrate to the 2013 Class of Twenty in their 20’s on Wednesday May 8, 2013 from 5:00 - 9:00 at the new Buffalo Wild Wings on Randolph St in Detroit.
