Overview
A Plymouth Township family was having difficulty sleeping in their second-floor bedrooms due to uncomfortably hot temperatures in the summer.
Problem
From an energy audit to the Plymouth Township home, the Ecotelligent team learned that the insulation in the attic was damaged and that several air leaks were allowing unwanted warm air into the house.
Approach
To start, our team removed the damaged attic insulation and added blown cellulose insulation to ENERGY STAR standards. Additionally, we air sealed the attic floor. Our team sealed the accessible joints and seams in the ductwork to prevent cool air from leaking out of the ducts before it reached the upstairs rooms.
Outcome
The family is now enjoying even temperatures between both floors of their home, allowing for a comfortable night’s sleep.
